In order to take part in any off-road racing riders must have insurance from our governing body Cycling Ireland in the form of a cycling licence.
For seniors and juniors the licence card should be a Full or Limited Competition licence.
(letters on the card would be :-
Full licence – A+, A1,A2,A3,A4,JR or LC “Limited Competition”)
Youth categories would have a licence with the letter U in it e.g. 21U109999
All competitors are required to produce their Cycling Ireland (annual) licence in order to receive their race number.
If you don’t have a licence you can take out an “Event licence” when you register for the event.
NOTE: This annual licence will NOT provide cover those taking part in the National Championships which take place on the second week in January 2022.
If you have a leisure or non-competition licence (letters ‘LM’ on your licence card) you need to ‘upgrade’ your licence for race day. This is an additional £9/€10 fee and you can take this out when you register.
For those without any licence an event licence will be available to purchase on race day, the cost of this ‘one-day’ licence will be £18 (€20) for non-CI members (seniors), Juniors £9. Note: There are no one-day licences for youth. All youth must take out a CI licence to compete.
