Course description
This is the 11th year that Island Wheelers have ran a cyclo-cross race (and support races) at Windmill Wood in Dungannon. The club wish to thank the ongoing support of the local council. The course takes in the grass area near one of the car parks before utilising the woods and tarmac paths and visiting the reconstructed windmill tower.
Under 12 Car Park (Subject to Space)
From M1 Junction 15 take the A29 signposted for Dungannon. Follow this road to you reach the second set of traffic lights with the 24hr filling station on your right. Go straight on at lights and in approx. 200 yards you will take a right into a small cul-de-sac that leads into the top car park at Windmill Wood. Shown in image below as box 1.

Team parking
For team vans with gazebos etc., the club is allowing parking via the Under 12 car park to an area under the trees. A marshal will allow access to this area – marked in image below as box 2.
Main Event Car Park (It is advised that competitors ride to sign-on, otherwise it’s a 5 min walk)
From M1 Junction 15 take the A29 signposted for Dungannon. Follow this road until you reach the second set of traffic lights with the 24hr filling station on your right. Take right onto the Gortmerron Link Road then take an immediate left onto Cunninghams Lane. Follow this road to the end and take left onto the Killyman Road. Take left immediately after Killymerron Park into the main car park – shown in image below as box 3.

Tyre width check
For Juniors (16/17), Seniors and Masters there will be a check on tyre width (max 33 mm)
Race licence
Cycling Ireland riders must hold a 2025/2026 licence either a Limited Competition (LC) or Full Competition.
For non-Cycling Ireland licence holders, please ensure you have a 2025/2026 licence from your federation then email a copy of your licence to secretary@offroadcyclingulster.com before pre-entry closes.
NOTE: There are no one-day licences available for championship categories (U14s, U16s, Junior, Senior or Masters)
Ulster medals – eligibility
This is an open event however there are conditions on receiving medals.
Ulster championship medals will only be awarded to riders who satisfy the following criteria
(a) Belonging to a club / team based in the Province;
(b) Unattached and resident in the Province;
(c) Residency in the Province;
(d) Belonging to a club / team based outside Ireland but,
1) Immediate past address was in the Province or
2) Most previous Irish club / team was based in the Province.
Prize list
As this is a championship there will Cycling Ulster medals for the following categories. No cash prizes to be given out. Display medals will be provided for the event with the engraved medals being available at the Cycling Ulster Awards night early 2026.

There will be non-championship races for the Under 6s, Under 8s, Under 10s and Under 12s.
Gridding
Gridding will be based on UCI points and the Ulster cyclo-cross series 2024
Facilities on site
Portable toilets will be available on site
There are no showers or changing rooms
Bike wash
Riders are asked to bring their own water for washing bikes. A bike wash area will be available on site close to the pits
