Cyclo-cross Training Day

With the upcoming Cyclo-cross season about to start in October, the Cycling Ulster Off-road commission have organised a Cyclo-cross training day on Sunday 28 September 2014 at Lurgan Park.  Start time 12 pm with lunch to begin.  Finish 4 pm.

There will be a mix of classroom style talks on the sport, the equipment, race preparation and training, etc before the practical work outside.  
There are a unique set of skills for cyclo-cross racing which will include dismounts, remounts, cornering and tackling barriers and steps.
There will also be a tour of the course for the upcoming first round of the 2014 series which is being held at Lurgan Park.

This years training will be geared towards both the "novice/beginner" and those who have raced in the past and want to improve their skills.  

The training is aimed at those aged 16 or over who will be taking part in cyclo-cross races this year and the cost will be £10 per person payable on the day (£5 for riders aged 16-17)
  • All riders must have a current Cycling Ireland licence.

  • All riders to bring along their cyclo-cross bike for the practical sessions
  • A helmet must be worn
In order to help organise numbers for catering purposes, all those wishing to attend the training must pre-register.
Pre-registration closes on Friday 26 September 2014 at 8 pm.
