Ulster Cyclo-Cross - About us

Welcome to the home of Ulster Cyclo-Cross Racing.

We hope that you are able to find here all the information you need on the events being held as part of the Ulster Cyclo-cross season 2017/2018.  This winter sport appeals to a wide variety of cyclists as the courses are not too technical and make for fast open racing.  The venues are based in parks with various terrain including grass, gravel, sand, tarmac with sections where the riders have to dismount and carry their bikes.  As the courses are relatively short and fairly open this form of racing is great for spectators who can observe the skills (or lack of) through muddy sections, or at the obstacles.

Each individual round of the Ulster cyclo-cross series has a full schedule of youth races (Under 6s, 8s, 10s, 12s, 14s and 16s) as well as a mountain bike support race for the senior riders.  The main cyclo-cross races last for approximately one hour.

There are prizes for the top 3 boys and girls in each of the youth races as well as the top 3 males and females in the mountain bike support race.

In the cyclo-cross race there will be prizes for the top 3 finishers (male and female), plus first unplaced Junior, unplaced Espoir, M40 and M50.

In 2017 we are pleased to offer you an 9 round cyclo-cross series including the Phoenix GP and the Ulster Cyclo-cross Championships.

NOTE: We will also have some information about the Kinning series which has slight differences in the racing format to the Ulster series.
